The Korean standard monosyllabic word lists for preschoolers (KS-MWL-P) were developed considering the criteria given by the literatures. However, the limitations of the study was elicited in the developing process due to insufficient participants and intensity levels measured. Psychometric function curve was then reanalyzed with 23 preschoolers at variable intensities from -10 to 40 dB HL and s-shaped curve was presented indicating good homogeneity. Also, the order of slope according to the order of the number of items did not show statistical difference proving little effects of age. Therefore this study was aimed to rearrange the KS-MWL-P following the remeasured psychometric function curve emphasizing age related lists according to the numbers of the items. The KSMWL- P’s lists and picture boards were rearranged according to the criteria such as ordering the slopes, composing words for differential application according to age. Each list was balanced with consonants and vowels appeared and lists 1, 3 and 2, 4 were matched with the minimal pair at the same item number (set). The picture boards were composed of 26 boards including 1 exercising
board. Each board has 6 pictures including 2 foiled and 4 target pictures reducing the correct probability by chance. The rearranged KS-MWL-P lists resulted the systematic s-shape psychometric function analysis. The total mean slope and threshold were 4.37%/dB and 13.26 dB. The 1, 2, 3, 4, lists’ mean slopes were 4.43, 4.28, 4.54, 4.25, respectively and did not show statistical difference. The means of three intra-list groups, 1-10, 11-20, 21-25, showed hierarchial order for each list with the statistical significance
indicating proper age related applications of the rearranged KS-MWL-P. While the rearranged KS-MWL-P was proved to be useful for clinical and rehabilitative evaluating and training tools for preschoolers, the verification of the list should be further
performed including many hearing impaired children.
