This study is to explore how \"A\" University Credit Bank Social Work education program works and the quality of the second grade social worker education. Three instructors and 6 former students graduates were interviewed. Additionally, data from various documents, websites, logs, and records were utilized.
An explorative single case design was chosen to reveal the entirety of this real life case and its characteristics. Form this study 3 Theme clusters such as Program Preparation, Obstacles to Overcome, and Program Evaluation and 10 themes and 34 formulated meanings. The overall quality of this program seems to be considerably low despite the high hopes of students entering the program with enthusiasm and idealism.
This program deficit is due partly to its for-profit management and its disregard of fundamental education criterion. Therefore, Proper standards for second grade social workers should be upheld and tightened. Students of the program should be afforded a full-time program coordinator and counselor. The Credit Bank programs and practicum should be subject to inspection by a responsible party so that the intended goals are met.
