본 연구는 장애인 정책형성과 서비스전달체계에서 핵심역할을 하는 공무원의 장애관련 경험과 장애교육이 장애의 유형별 이해․소외상황 인식수준과 장애인 특성 인식수준에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고자 하였다. 자료는 중앙부처, 서울특별시·구․동, 광역시․구․동, 도청, 시․군․구, 읍․면․동에 각각 근무 중인 공무원 930명을 대상으로 수집, 최종 540부를 통계분석에 사용 하였다. 장애의 유형별 이해․소외상황, 특성 인식수준에 미치는 영향을 미치는 변인들을 살펴본 결과, 근무지와 최종학력, 장애인 관련 근무경험, 직무관련 장애인 만남 여부, 그리고 장애인복지교육 경험이 유의미한 변인으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과는 장애인식 개선을 위하여 공무원을 대상으로 하는 장애관련 경험과 장애복지교육이 중요함을 함의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the disability related experiences and previous disability educations on the understanding levels of disability categories·isolation and characteristics of the disabled among public service personnels who are responsible for the development of social policy and the service deliverly systems for the disabled. The results revealed the significant impacts of service locations, educational levels, work related contacts with the disabled, and previous disability educations on the understanding levels of disability categories·isolation of the disabled. It was implied that it would be important to let public service personnels have more opportunities to experience the disabled and to have awareness educations about disabilities.
