This study examined the causal relationships among goal orientation,Big Five,self-efficacy,
and intrinsic-extrinsic motivation.The subjects of this study were 392(male 126,female 266)
undergraduatestudentswhoattendinguniversityinDaeguandKyungpook.Thedatawereprocessed
by multipleregression analysisandPearson’sproductcorrelation,andpath analysis.Theresultsof
thestudywereasfollows;First,therewasasignificantcorrelationbetweenBigFiveand2×2goal
orientation. Second, intrinsic motivation was mediator variable through personality to
mastery-approach goal.The extrinsic motivation was mediator variable through personality to
performance-approach. The self-efficacy was mediator variable through personality to
mastery-avoidance and performance-avoidance goal. As a result, this study founded that
conscientiousnessand intrinsicmotivation weremeaningfulcontributorto predictmastery-approach
goal, and extrinsic motivation was significant contributor to predict performance-approach.
Mastery-avoidance and performance-avoidance goalwere similar path way.The following study
wouldbeplannedtoimprovelearningmotivationbasedongoalorientations.
