본 연구는 Seligman(2002) 그리고 Sirgy와 Wu(2009)의 논의에 근거하여, 행복의 여가 관련 요인을 살펴보며, 그러한 행복을 측정하는데 포함되는 여가관련 요인들의 내용을 살펴보고자 한다. 여가개념은 ‘주어진 사회적 조건을 변화시키거나 극복하기 위해’ 적극적으로 노력할 때 나타나는 ‘마음의 상태나 개인의 경험’으로 정의된다. 결국, 행복한 생활은 여가활동을 통해 생활의 즐거움을 극대화하고, 재미적 요소를 통해 몰입하며, 전문적인 기술과 경험을 사회적인 관계속에서 나누고 공유하고, 그리고 일상에서 \'일-삶의 조화(Work-Life Balance)\'를 실현할 때 가능함을 알게되었다. 여기서 전제조건은 개인의 선택과 자유의지를 지원할 수 있는 자원과 환경이다. 행복 측정을 위해 포함된 지수 가운데 여가요인은 시간사용이나 시간배분, 여가시간에 대한 만족도, 시간활용에 대한 재량, 업무스트레스, 시간균형, 스포츠활동이나 문화예술 참여율 등이 있으나, 결국 행복을 결정짓는 여가의 본질적 요소는 자유의지와 주관적 인식이라고 볼 수 있다.
This study is based on debate between Seligman(2002) and Sirgy/Wu(2009). It looks into happy leisure relating factors, and tries to study the elements that are used when estimating the level of happiness. The concept of leisure is defined as the state of mind or individual's experience, which appear when one actively tries to change and overcome the society's condition. Eventually, happy life maximizes the pleasure of life through leisure activities. It gets absorbed in by the fun factors and shares professional skills and experience. Happy life is possible when we practice 'Work-Life Balance' in life. The premise is, yet, the resource and condition that can support one's choice and free will. Among the factors that are included for estimating happiness, leisure factors include time use, time distribution, the level of satisfaction of leisure time, discretion of time use, work pressure, time balance, participation rate of sports or cultural arts. However, it is the free will and subjective understanding that determines the happiness. Key Words : happiness, leisure experience, international comparison, Work-Life Balance
