The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between preschool children's behavior
and their early school adaptation in half-day program and full-day program. Subjects were 315 young
children, who were composed of 150 half-day program children and 165 full-day program children. The
collected data were analyzed by using t-test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression.
The major results of this study were as follows:
First, full-day program children showed higher behavior than half-day program children. Second,
half-day program children showed higher their early school adaptation than full-day program children.
Third, there were significant correlations between children's behavior and their early school adaptation
in both half-day program and full-day program. In half-day program, aggressive, anxious, and hyperactive
behavior were predictable variables of children's early school adaptation. And, in full-day program,
aggressive, anxious, and hyperactive behavior were predictors of children's early school adaptation.
