This study reviews studies of bibliotherapy to examine the use of bibliotherapy. It also scans contents of bibliotherapy in order to search for applications of bibliotherapy to counseling and psychotherapy. The history and definitions of bibliotherapy are examined and the study about the effect of bibliotherapy reveals that bibliotherapy has been used by many groups in varying ages. While the number of studies is increasing and the issue is actively discussed in our country, the stage of development is still in an initial stage and there is a few use in counseling and psychotherapy division. The study also discusses：How to chose right books, evaluate the process, and train those who practice bibliotherapy. Finally because bibliotherapy is relatively cheap, easily accessible, and effective in prevention, I suggest possible implications that bibliotherapy and traditional psychotherapy together can be used to apply many people effectively.
