Sixteen 6S or older female elderly people without special disease or no abnormal joints were selected as subjects.
These subjects were living in D city and using w Center. These subjects were divided into an exercise group
comprised of eight and a non-exercise group consisting of eight. The exercise program for subjects were stretching,
ergometer and thera-band exercise. and these exercise were done 5O±10 minutes per day, 3 times per week for 12
weeks. The experiment was proceeded; isokinetic muscular force of Knee joint and balance measurement before and
after training. Isokinetic carried out each at five times of 90 and 120 isokinetic exercise to increase muscular force.
balance was the standing on one leg with (open/dose) eye test.
The difference of within and between in two groups was analyzed paired t-test arid t-test, significant level was
set a=.Q5. The results of the tests are as follows. Ihe exercise group had increaed extension of knee joint. The
non-exercise group had decreaed extension of knee joint.
In the Result of balance, (open/dose) eyes one leg standing, The exercise group had increaed of balance. The
non-exercise group had decreaed of balance. This study confinned that ergometer and thera-band exercise for 12
week can improve the isokinetic muscular force of female elderly people though meaningful effects on the muscular
force and muscular function of knee joint.
