본 연구는 어머니 상담을 병행한 미술치료가 아동의 정서․행동문제에 어떠한 효과를 미치는지 밝히고자 하였다. 모-자가정의 어머니, 그리고 초등학교 4학년인 딸을 대상으로, 2004년 12월부터 2005년 4월까지 어머니 개별상담 5회, 아동 미술치료 12회, 어머니와 딸이 함께 참여한 모-자미술치료를 2회 실시하였다. 어머니의 심리적 특성이 아동의 발달과 밀접한 관련이 있으며, 아동의 정서 행동문제가 초기 유아기 때부터 어머니와의 상호작용 속에서 형성된다고 보는 대상관계이론을 적용하여 상담을 실시하였다. 따라서 대상관계 발달을 위한 미술치료 적용을 위해 자유로운 자기표현방법을 제공하고 어머니와 경험하지 못했던 좋은 대상관계를 경험할 수 있도록 어머니도 상담현장에 참여시켜 아동과의 원활한 상호작용을 이룰 수 있도록 하였다. 상담 결과를 살펴보기 위해 평가도구에 의한 분석과 회기별 질적 분석을 병행하였다. 그 결과 아동의 정서․행동문제는 어머니의 초기 양육태도와 밀접한 관계가 있고, 어머니상담을 병행한 미술치료가 아동의 정서․행동문제에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 정서․행동문제가 있는 아동상담 시 대상관계적 치료접근과 어머니 상담을 병행한 미술치료의 효과성에 대한 실증적 자료를 제공해 준다. 즉, 어머니 상담을 병행한 미술치료가 심리적 갈등이나 억압된 정서를 표출해주고 그로인해 정서적 안정감 및 긍정적인 모-자간의 상호작용 회복에 도움을 줌으로써 아동의 정서․행동상의 문제들이 감소됐다고 볼수 있다.
This study is to investigate the effect of art therapy which parallels mothers counseling on the emotional and behavioral problems of child. The subjects are the mother and her daughter(4th grade in a elementary school) of a mother-child family. This program was implemented from December 2004 to April 2005 and composed of 5 sessions for mother's counseling, 12 sessions for child's art therapy and 2 sessions for family's art therapy. Object relationship Theory was applied to the counseling. That is, there is close correlation between mother's psychological traits and child's development. And child's emotional and behavioral problem is formed through correlation with mother f개m infanthood. Therefore I offered free self-expression way to apply art therapy for the development of object relationship and offered opportunities to experience good relationship with mother by mother's participation in art therapy. Analysis by evaluation method and quality analysis by each session were carried out and the results are: 1. Child's emotional and behavioral problems are closely related to early rearing attitude of mother. 2. Art therapy which paralleled mother's counseling positively effected on client's emotional and behavioral problems. This research shows there is close correlation between child's emotional and behavioral problems and mother's rearing attitude. And this research provides positive data for the effect of object relationship's approach and art therapy which parallels mother's counseling in therapy of a child who has emotional and behavioral problems. That is, the expression of psychological conflict and repressed emotion in art therapy helped the recovery of emotional stability and positive correlation between mother and child.
