The Study was designed to examine the effect of group art therapy program on the self-esteem and sociality of a child from single parent family.
The subjects in this study were 14 children ranging from 9 to 11 year-old who study at study room in welfare center in Daegu. And were divided into two groups, experimental and control each having 7 children. The experiment group was participated in group art therapy program. The program consisted of a total of 20 sessions, 1 session in a week and each session lasting 60minutes. Research instruments were employed to measure for degree of self esteem and sociality. Experimental group were evaluated 3 times, pre-test, post-test and further-test after program. SAS program was employed for data analysis using repeated measure 2-way ANOVA designed mixed.
The results obtained from the study were as follows.
First, group art therapy did not showed effectiveness for enhancing self esteem and sociality of single parent's child(p<0.05).
Second, Statistically, art therapy program working time has interaction at highly significant effective at 0.001 level with enhancing self-esteem and sociality of single parent's child.
