This thesis was to inquire into the differences in the reactional characteristics of the bird's nest
drawing to the attachment level of elementary school students. The object of study was 443 elementary school students of 5th to 6th grade in D City. The research tools are Parent Attachment Standard, Peer Attachment Standard and BND(Bird's Nest Drawing). The data was analyzed by SPSS(ver. 14.0 for Windows), by which cross-tab-test is carried out. The results are as follows. Firstly, in a analysis for the difference of reactional characteristics of BND according to gender, there is a significant difference statistically in the contents in nest, the feature of nest, the slant of nest, whether-or-not of dangerous element, the quality of nest line, the number of color, and the major color. Secondly, there is a significant difference statistically in the reactional characteristics of BND according to the father․mother․peer attachment level. First, the higher the father attachment level is, the nest is bigger. And the nest in their
pictures is away from the parent bird. And their pictures are with care activity, with no dangerous elements, with the support of tree. Second, the higher the mother attachment level is, they paints a flying bird, which is away from the parent bird. And their pictures are with care activity, a lot of colors. Third, the higher the peer attachment level is, their pictures does not have dangerous elements, and they are with a lot of brownish colors. In conclusion, this study has a significant meaning in that it verifies that BND can be a projection test tool to diagnose the attachment stability, and that it confirms the stable attachment in the attachment index to the attachment level. As the object of study is for the elementary school students in D City, it is not easy to generalize the achievements of this study. Thus, it is necessary
to examine out the reactional characteristics by way of consecutive researches for the elementary school students in various districts all over the country.
