This study investigated the perception on client's expectation of group art therapist's role in the level of satisfaction on group experience and type of group. The subjects were 139 graduate students who were enrolled in graduate school and experienced group art therapy one time or more The research tools was Expectation about Counseling Questionare(EAC) of Tinsley et al(1980). Data were analyzed in relative importance of role of group art therapist and difference of the level of satisfaction on group experience and type of group(intensive course vs weekly course).
The results are as follows. Of factors of role expectation, genuineness and nurturing were highly evaluated, but directiveness less evaluated. Subjects showed the differences of acceptance, empathy, and nurturing according to the level of group experience. The 'very satisfied experience' and 'moderately satisfied experience' group more emphasized acceptance factor than the 'unsatisfied experience' group. And, in empathy and nurture factors, the 'very satisfied experience' was more emphasized than the 'unsatisfied experience' group. Last, in 'genuiness' factor, the significant difference is shown between intensive and weekly course. Intensive group more emphasized genuiness factor than weekly group. In conclusion, the level of group experience shows the difference in acceptance, empathy, and nurturing factor. And the type of group shows the difference in genuineness factor.
