소위 단일민족 신화에 의해 교육 받고 살아온 우리나라는 세계화시대를 맞이하여 국내거주 외국인과의 교류 증가, 국제결혼 증가, 해외교류 증가 등으로 새로운 변화의 전기를 맞이하고 있다. 이에 본 연구자는 기존의 CCAP(Cross Cultural Awareness Program) 프로그램에 반反편견교육의 개념을 더한 새로운 프로그램을 고안하여 이 시대적인 요구—세계 모든 사람들과 편견 없이 교류하며 스스로 건강한 정체성을 가질 것—에 부응하고자했다. 이 프로그램의 고안 원칙은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 다른 나라 가리지 않고 여러 문화권에 대한 지식의 양을 증가 시킨다. 둘째, 문화교류를 통하여 세계의 다양한 사람들과 즐거운 경험을 함께 할 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 직접적인 반편견교육을 실시하여 편견 없는 교류의 좋은 점을 알게 한다. 이러한 바탕 위에 2007년 3월에서 10월까지 수원의 H초등학교 3학년 36명을 대상으로 CCAP를 이용한 반편견교육을 실시하고 이를 질문지법, 관찰법, 문헌조사법으로 정리하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 인종 간 편견이 줄어들고 다른 인종 간 교류의 의사가 확대되었다. 둘째, 편견의 나쁜 점을 알고 편견 없이 교류하려는 마음가짐을 가지게 되었다. 셋째, 문화교류의 중요성을 알고 국제적 시각을 기르게 되었으며 특히 국제결혼에 의한 혼혈인 어린이 문제에 관심을 가지게 되었다. 이상의 연구결과로써 본 연구자는 CCAP를 이용한 반편견 프로그램이 수정·보완을 통해 전국의 초등학교 혹은 여타의 학교 급으로 확대·발전되어야 한다고 생각한다.
Nowadays Korean people who have been educated and believed under homo-ethnic group myth have been changing in term of global era which encourages the increase of interracial marriage, interchange of international people and cultural exchange. I suggested an anti-bias curriculum using CCAP(Cross Cultural Awareness Program) to answer the critical demand that children should be educated to become people who get along with people from all-around world without bias and have positive self-identity. The anti-bias curriculum using CCAP were designed to incorporate three strategies. First, the absolute quantity of knowledge covering all cultural areas including Korean culture should be increased. Secondly, children should have joyful experience through face-to-face cultural exchange. Thirdly, the anti-bias curriculum lead them directly to understand the advantage of the situation without bias. This study was conducted in the 3rd grade at H-elementary school from Mar. to Oct. 2007 and was arranged by survey research and observation method. The following influences and changes were found among the children. First, racial bias was diminished and then open aptitude to other race was increased. Secondly, children have recognized the bad aspect of racial bias. Thirdly, children were aware of the importance of cultural exchange in global prospect. Furthermore, they show their spontaneous interest about interracial children. Finally, it is suggested that this curriculum should be spreaded. Key words: racial bias, anti-bias curriculum, CCAP
