The purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of KFD as the instrument evaluating family interaction and dynamics, to analize characteristics in KFD style and relalion of KFD to family strength. The 325 subjects were selected from girls high school in the city of Pusan. KFD and the scale of family strength were employed in the study. "x², T-test, and regression analysis were employed to analyze data collected by instruments. The results were as follows; 1. All subarea of KFD except encapsulation area showed higher adjustment rate than maladjustment. 2. Father's occupation had effect on underlining individuals, the degree of family satisfaction had effect on compartmentalization, and the degree of punishment by mother had effect on encapsulaton. 3. In the family environment variables, family atmosphere, family satisfaction, and health variable had effect on family strenths. 4. Edging variable of KFD showed a significant difference in family strenth. This variable is considered as important factor to identify family dynamics.
