색채에는 사람의 감정을 자극하는 요소가 있으며 색에서 받는 인상은 색에 따라 다르며 그에 따른 감정도 다양하며 색에 대한 연상과 감정은 개인에 따라 다르게 바뀐다. 색채는 여러가지 연상을 일으키고 심리적, 생리적인면에 영향을 미쳐 감정과 행동이 좌우되고 생활과 밀접한 관계가 있음은 오래전부터 지적 되어 온 것이 사실이다. 또한 색채의 감각이 시각에 의존하고 있다는 것은 생리적인 현상이지만 감각을 통한 충격은 심리적으로 작용하는 것이다(강명구. 1968). 색은 사용하는자의 지적 수준, 민족적 습관의 차이, 기후, 종교, 정치, 성별, 연령 등에 따라 구체적인 차이가 생기고 심리적으로도 차이가 심하다(한국교육대학 미술교육연구회. 1984: 김학성. 1988). 색채에 대한 심리적인 연상이나 느낌은 개인의 과거 경험, 개인이 소속한 사회의 문화적 배경, 또는 자연환경의 색채 등에 영향을 받아서 형성된다(이은영. 1989). 취학전 아동을 대상으로 한 연구에서 남아는 빨강, 노랑, 주홍색을 여아는 빨강, 분홍, 노랑순으로 선호경향을 보였고( 김민자. 1973) 사려성 깊은 남아는 파랑계열을 여아는 파스텔색 계열을 선호하며 남녀 아동 모두 빨강을 혐오하는 것으로 나타났다. 조화색의 경우에는 사려성 집단의 남녀 모두 유사색을 충동성 집단의 남녀 모두 대비 배색을 선호하는 것으로 나타났다(신혜봉, 임숙자. 1987).
The purpose o f this study was to investigated the relationship between the clothes color preferences and personality traits of student with hearing disorder, physical handicapped. The subjects for this study included 237 School student who are visiting special schools in Chonju, Kwangju, Daejon and Kyunggido for the hearing disorder, physical handicapped. The following tests were given: a) MMTIC: Murphy-Meisgcoloreier Type Indicator for student. b) the preference of clothing color used Muncell color circle, value, color type(pastel, dark&dull, primitive), warm & cool color, arrange colodcomplementary, monnochromatic, analogous). The result o f the present study were as follows: First. The most preferred color of student with hearing disorder. physical handicapped is B(blue), Y(yellow), YG(yellow green), R (red). The most disliked color of them is RP(red purple), BP(blue purple), P(purple). As to the hearing handicapped student prefer the high value color. and the physical handicapped student prefer the high value color too. The hearing disorder student prefer primitive color and the physical handicapped student prefer pastel tone. The hearing disorder student prefer to primitive color and the physical handicapped student prefer pastel tone. They prefer cool color to warm color. Second. personality traits of student with hearing disorder. physical handicapped have sensing type. Physical handicapped student have more feeling type than hearing disorder student. Third. hearing disorder. physícal handicapped student who preferred to RY(red yellow), GB (green blue) had to sensing, feeling, perceiving type. Hearing disorder. physical handicapped student who preferred to high value, red T-shirt, complementary, monnochromatic, analogous had to extroversion, sensing, feeling, perceiving type.
