The purpose of this study is to explore the validity of the KFD as a measure of Family Boundary and Family Adaptability Diagnosis. The Kinetic Family Drawing(KFD) and Family system Diagnosis Scale(FSDS) were administered to adolescent 128 families. Data were analyzed by regression ahalysis and discriminant analysis.
The results were as follows;
First, there is a significant difference in the relationship between family boundary variables of mother\'s KFD and enmeshment·diserigagement variable of FSDS. For mother the orientation of husband figureand child figure is both turhed back and the greater the distance between husband figure and child figure, the greater enmeshed ih their family relationship. But the orientation of self figure and child figure is both turned back and the greatef the distance. between self figure and child figure, the greater disegaged in their famaiy relatioriship.
Second, There is a significant difference among the KFD family adaptabilitý variab!es of father\'s mother\'s and son’s KFD and flexibility and rigidity variable of FSDS in the family relationship. That is for father, mother, and son they say, the greater the satisfaction for their family in
their drawings, the more flexible in their family relationship. Expecially for son’s KFD indicated that the greater the activity level of self, he has more flexible in his family relationship.
