The purpose of this study is to see what effects a drawing-mediation program can induce on the physical symptoms of the patients with cardiovascular diseases. Study subjects are composed of the control group of 13 patients and the experimental group of 12 patients, all selected from A-Community Welfare Center in D city, who were diagnosed as or suspicious of having cardiovascular disease. The program is carried out in 15 sessions, 2 hours per session, from July 14 to September 1, 2009. To confirm the effectiveness of the program, Stress Response Inventory is carried out for Pretest, Posttest, and Follow-up test. Data collected were analyzed by SPSSWIN 12.0, in which adopted are independent t-test for homogeneity of the pretests for both groups; percentile through frequency analysis for general characteristics
of each of the control and experimental groups; repeated measure ANOVA for or changes for each group and test time; and Tukey\'s multiple comparisons for simple main effects and interaction stress response effects for each group and test time. The results obtained by the study are as follows. As to the psychological symptoms of cardiovascular patients on Stress Response Inventory\', the drawing-meditation program turns out to be effective in alleviating stress of the patients with cardiovascular disease. The study seems significant in verifying the effectiveness of the program for the cardiovascular patients.
