The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the Social Skills Training-Group Art
Therapy Program on the defective behaviors of the children with ADHD. The subjects were
sixteen who were children from the first to third grade in the H elementary school in D city,
and were diagnosed as ADHD from psychiatric of 00 hospital. The eight children were assigned
to the experimental group and eight children were assigned to the control one. The experimental group participated in the social skills training-Group Art Therapy Program that were based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. The program was consisted of the eighteen sessions(50-60 minutes persession), once a week. Research tools were the Social Skill Rating System(SSRS) for teacher, the Korean Child Behavior Checklist(K -CBCL) for parents. And qualitative case study was taken, based on the drawings & behaviors & attitudes that were observed & recorded at each session. The results obtained were as follows. First, the Social Skills Training-Group Art Therapy Program had significant consequences on improving participants\' Social Skills Second, the Social Skills Training-Group Art Therapy Program had significant effects on reducing participants\' Defective Behaviors. In conclusion, this study suggested that the Social Skills Training-Group Art Therapy Program was an effective therapeutic method which may improve social skills and reduce defective behaviors of ADHD children
