Memory can be said to be a collection of a variety of sensory stimuli which are a kind of 'input' as well as a kind of 'output' after they are reorganized and combined. I n order to determine an effective occupational therapy treatment plan for hemiplegic patients it was felt that both auditory and visual memory function should be tested and difference between the status of these two functions determined. This information could be a partial basis for treatment planning. Subjects for study were 15 left-sided hemiplegics, 14 right-sided hemiplegics and 15 normal subjects. The results of the study showed a significant difference except for number memory between each of the hemiplegic groups and the normal group as well as significant difference both modified continous visual assessment and modified continuous auditory assessment between the two hemiplegic groups.
