The purpose of this study is to investigate the direction and strategies in science education for students with disabilities. The research question is how to develop the direction and strategies in science education for students with disabilities to achieve this purpose. To solve this research questions, the literature review is conducted and the results are as follow.
First, science education for students with disabilities should take its course in the direction of emphasizing scientific literacy needed for helping the students to live as a citizen of the future.
Second, there are three kinds of strategies required; Providing the learning opportunity ensuring the participation of students with disabilities in science learning, modifying the accessibility to the text appropriately, and integrating the science and literacy to support the literacy skill which is lacked of for the students with disabilities.
Thus science education for students with disabilities should take its course in direction of emphasizing the scientific literacy that enable them to live as a citizen, and should have strategies for providing learning opportunities, modifying the text.
