There are constant efforts for improvement in reading ability of Hearing Impairment children but there is a limit of suggesting specific teaching-learning method. Relying on sight instead of hearing to improve language ability of Hearing Impairment children, who are not able to hear but possible to see, we use sign language and Cued Speech. Cued Speech is a method of giving Cued, the clue which is relevant to consonant and vowel, to help Hearing Impairment children to recognize the vocalization providing sight clue to improve the low literacy standard. It helps Hearing Impairment children from English-speaking countries including United States to acquire the vocalization of consonant and vowel without help of sound. It is especially effective in spoken language guidance for the highest degree Hearing Impairment children and it also gives the opportunity of communication with those children teaching this system to their parents. Cued Speech has been very effective way to improve the language ability of Hearing Impairment children since it was developed but there is hardly any methodical study about Cued Speech domestically. Therefore we would like to interpret the possibility for usage of Cued Speech, giving opportunity to assure the possibility of Cued Speech as a new way of approaching, and anticipate the advantages of the new usable technologies like an automatic formation of Cued Speech or cochlear implant.
