This study is to inquire into the effect of group art therapy focused on the collaborative work on the
reduction of the stress and on the improvement of the peer relationship of the single-parent families\'
children. The study subjects are the 16 single-parent families\' children, an upper grade of an elementary
school located in G city. They had a difficulty in school life and peer relationship. Among them, the 8
children were arranged as the experimental group, and the other 8 children were arranged as the control
group. This group art therapy program was carried out during 20 sessions once a week from 60 minutes to
70 minutes a session from September 2, 2010 to January 20, 2011, under the request of teachers in their
school and social workers in charge of them for therapeutic aid. The peer relationship scale and the stress
scale were carried out to verify the effect of this program. For data analysis, the test for homogeneity was
carried out, prior to this program. And the Repeated ANOVA was carried out to confirm the effectiveness
of this program. The results of this study are as follows. First, this program is effective on the reduction of
the stress of the children. Second, this program is effective on the improvement of the peer relationship of
the children.
