쉼터 이용 아내구타 노출아동의 문제를 다양한 관점에서 파악하고, 그 개입방안을 모색하고자 하는 노력이 시급하다고 하겠다. 이에 본 연구에서는 쉼터 이용 아내구타 노출아동과 아동의 어머니, 그리고 쉼터관리자를 대상으로 면접조사를 실시하여 쉼터의 아동서비스 현황 및 아동의 문제를 구체적으로 밝히고자 한다. 본 연구는 우리 사회에서 아직 관심의 대상이 되지 못하고 있는 아내구타 노출아동 문제의 심각성이 적절히 인식되는데 기여할 것이며, 우리 현실에 적합한 쉼터 이용 아동을 위한 개입방안 마련에 기초를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
This study aims at providing information for exploring an intervention plan for the children of battered women\'s shelters. In this study, through face-to-face interviews, conditions of child services in shelters, state of wife battering with the children exposed, children\'s problem behaviors, difficulties in shelter living, self-esteem, and perceptions/reactions toward wife battering are examined. As a result, the children in shelters exhibit serious problem behaviors, various difficulties in shelter living, low self-esteem, and distorted perceptions and inappropriate reactions toward wife battering. It is concluded that the children in shelters who are exposed to wife battering have various problems along very different problem areas. However, the state of the shelter\'s child service is extremely poor, so a systematic intervention plan for these children should be developed immediately. The study suggests an intervention plan for the children in battered women\'s shelters which includes an individual therapy provided by professional child therapists for the children who show serious clinical problems, a group program dealing with the problems many children have in common, and the intervention for parents such as parent education and family therapy.
