This research was done with the aim of looking into the effects that the song -centered music therapy has on the linguistic development of the infant of a multi-cultural family. The research selected the children from a multicultural family who is using S multi-cultural family support center located in Daegu as its study subjects; in short, this research targeted 3 infants from a multicultural family created by a marriage between a woman immigrant and a Korean man among international marriage families. The subjects of the study group are 3 to 6 in their chronological age, and formed the infants who were left behind their linguistic age comparing to their chronological age on the basis of PRES test. The research results are as follows: First, the music therapy focusing on songs was found to have effects on the receptive language development of the infants from a multicultural family. Second, song-centered music therapy was found to have effects on expressive language development of the infants from a
multicultural family. So the music therapy focusing on songs was found to have effects on the language development of the infants from a multicultural family.
