The purpose of the study is to promote the employment of people with disabilities being limited under the
current system through analyzing the characteristics of businesses that fulfill the obligatory employment and
learning the cause of employment and unemployment. For the study method, 432 businesses having
obligations to employ people with disabilities was subject to be analyzed using a Logistic Regression Analysis
based on the 2010 survey on the employment status of people with disabilities in business.
The study results reveal that the employment of people with disabilities is affected by following factors:
wholesale business and retail business in terms of organizational characteristics; personal reasons and work
difficulties in labor management; health management, punctuality, minimizing work gap, long-term
employment, workplace etiquette, expectation toward relationship in corporate expectation; strengthening
recruiting service and direct employment among supports for employing people with disabilities in legal
system; and performance and employment cost in conception of employment.
Hence, we suggested three plans in order to improve the employment of people with disabilities as
follows: First, efforts are necessary to vitalize pre-employment programs for job development and
allocation concerning types of business and disability. Second, efforts are necessary to vitalize
pre-employment programs for enhancing personality and socialization of disabled people; Third, various
policy approaches like the programs of improving recognition toward the people with disabilities, promoting
the program of supporting the employers, and making efficient programs should be made in order to reduce
negative recognition on the employment of people with disabilities; Forth, the range and percentage of the
obligatory employment should be larger in order to employ directly the people with disabilities as one of the
ways of employing the people. Fifth, it is necessary to operate differentiated education programs that are
customized to the talent and level of skill of an individual in order to raise performance of work.
