This study aims at providing basic information needed for special education support
center to reestablish its role and to stabilize its operation. A survey of recognition on
the satisfaction level of different personnel’s role and importance in special education
support center was done to ensure the study gets the information. The conclusion
from this research based on this study is as follows:
Above all, the satisfaction level showed differences depending on the personnel’s
quality(on sex, teaching career, teacher’s certificate, and from operating system of
the center). First, male personnel showed higher satisfaction level than female personnel
on human/physical resources and on career/vocational training. Moreover, personnel
with teacher’s certificate showed higher satisfaction level on career/vocational training
and on integrated education. However, the level on human/physical resources was
higher in personnel without. Personnel in special education support centers with urban
operating system showed higher satisfaction than those with rural operating system
on special education students’ diagnosis, evaluation, and on extensive service, while
the satisfaction level on assistive technology support showed the opposite result.
Finally, personnel with longer teaching career showed higher satisfaction level on
exceptional infants’ educational support, diagnosis, and evaluation, while personnel with
shorter teaching career showed higher satisfaction on extensive education support.
Second, according to the result from the survey of recognition of the personnel on the importance of special education support center, response rate was the highest in
diagnosis and evaluation of children with special educational needs. the rate in extensive
education, exceptional infants’ education support followed, and the rate turned out
the lowest in role of permanent monitoring organization.
