본 연구는 정서강도와 우울의 관계를 확인하고, 정서강도가 높은 사람들이 어떠한 정서조 절방략을 통해 우울에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 수행되었다. 연구의 목적은 정서강도가 높은 사람들에게 적응 및 부적응적 정서조절 방략이 무엇인지 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대구․경북 지역 대학(원)생 288명을 대상으로 정서강도, 정서조절방략, 우울에 대한 설문조 사를 실시하였다. 각 변인간의 관련성을 확인하기 위해 상관분석을 실시하였고, 매개효과를 분석하기 위해 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 정서강도는 우울과 정적 상관관계를 보였 고, 정서조절방략의 하위요인 중 부적응적 방략이 우울과 정적상관을, 주의전환 방략과 접근 적 방략이 부적상관관계를 보였다. 회귀분석결과, 정서조절방략의 부적응적․주의분산적․접 근적 방략 중 부적응적 방략만이 완전매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 정서강도가 높은 개인 이 우울을 경험한다기보다, 부적응적 방략을 많이 사용할수록 우울이 더 높은 것으로 나타났 다. 끝으로 본 연구의 제한점과 추후연구를 기술하였다.
This study was conducted to understand relationships between emotional intensity and depression, and also to find out how people with high emotional intensity use emotion regulation strategy affecting depression. The purpose of the research is to search strategies for adaptive and non adaptive emotional modulating for people with high emotional intensity. For this, we conducted a survey on 288 university students and graduate students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas. The survey measured their emotional intensity, emotion regulation strategies and levels of depression. The correlation analysis was conducted to confirm the relations among those variables and the regression analysis was utilized to evaluate the mediating. The results of this study were as follows: In other words, instead of the person with strong emotional intensity experiencing depression, the more the maladjusted strategy is applied, the higher the depression becomes. Limitations of the results and suggestions for future research were discussed.
