Since two decades ago, the issue of father involvement in child rearing has been widely discussed in the field of child development research. A review of literature reveals that father involvement in child care has become a more important factor in fostering healthy child development in many aspects. However, in most of nuclear families, where women work outside home,mothers have experienced difficulty in providing necessary care for children without sufficient help from their husbands. To date, a new generation of fathers are aware of the fact that they are expected to participate more in child care and they are eager to learn how to fulfill that expectations. Although the number of fathers who want to increase their knowledge and skills relating to fathering, there have been limited kinds of father education programs available to them. In this paper, a new father education program called, 'Responsive Father Education Program' which consists of six sessions has been suggested and discussed in detail. Definitions and theoretical frameworks were introduced, and major themes and educational activities for each session were presented. The 'Responsive Father Education Program' is aimed at promoting responsiveness of fathers by encouraging them to adjust to the needs of their spouse and children, to relate to them, as well as to enhance their family life.
