이 논문은 국가보훈 의식 고취를 위한 청소년들의 애국심 함양에 대한 주제를 다루고 있다. 애국심은 국민으로서 마땅히 가져야 할 기본적인 의무이자 국민의 국민다운 덕목이다. 그러나 지구상에서 유일한 분단국가인 우리나라 국민들은 6.25전쟁의 오랜 휴전 상태 속에서 국가안보의식이 매우 약화되어 있는 것이 오늘의 현실이다. 이에 다음 세대를 이어갈 우리들의 자녀인 청소년들에게 올바른 애국심을 심어주는 것은 무엇보다 중요한 일이 아닐 수 없다, 이에 논자를 ‘자발적인 의무’이자 ‘넘치는 의무’로서의 애국심의 중요성을 이 논문에서 제기하고 이를 교육적인 차원에서 우리의 청소년들에게 강조하고자 하였다.
The essay is dealing with themes related to the cultivation and elevation of patriotic spirit in the mind of young people in the Republic of Korea. Although the patriotism is considered the fundamental responsibility and the true morality that a citizen is expected to keep in its mind, many Koreans, especially the young people of today in South Korea, are now in their little consciousness of the national security. That is considered to have been caused by the long period of time since the cease-fire agreement concluded in 1953 that ended the Korean War that was started by the North Korean communist regime on June 25, 1950 for the purpose of communizing the whole Korean peninsula. So it has become most important for us the older generation who have the experience of the atrocities of the war and the background of it to implant the most appropriate patriotism in the mind of the young ones who will inherit our country. For the purpose of realizing the above objective the essay has tried to emphasize the importance of educating the young generation in today's Republic of Korea to have the strong and realistic patriotism as their volunteering and overflowing responsibility. And that it should be carried out in the most appropriate educational dimension for them who should lead the country in the most healthy way in the future and for the permanent peace in this region of the world.
