본 연구에서는 유아의 놀이성, 또래 유능성, 유치원 적응 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하고 유아의 놀이성이 유치원 적응에 직접적으로 미치는 영향과 또래 유능성을 매개로 간접적으로 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 경기도의 공립 유치원 12곳에 재원중인 만 3세 유아 203명을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구를 위해 유아의 놀이성, 또래 유능성, 유치원 적응을 알아보기 위한 설문지를 배포하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 22.0과 AMOS 22.0을 사용하여 통계처리 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공분산구조방정식 모형에 의하여 구조관계 분석을 실시한 결과, 유아의 놀이성, 또래 유능성, 유치원 적응 간의 최종 구조적 관계 모형은 적합하였다. 유아의 놀이성은 또래 유능성과 유치원 적응에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치며, 또래 유능성도 유치원 적응에 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 놀이성은 유치원 적응에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 또래 유능성을 매개로 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 또래 유능성은 유아의 놀이성이 유치원 적응에 미치는 영향에 있어 간접적인 영향을 주는 매개변인이었다. 이러한 연구결과를 통하여 또래유능성은 유치원 적응에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐 아니라 놀이성이 유치원 적응에 영향을 미치는 데 있어 매개변인의 역할을 한다는 것을 알 수 있다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationship among young children s playfulness, peer competence, and kindergarten adjustment. The study verified a structural model to analyze the effects of young children s playfulness and peer competence on kindergarten adjustment. The subjects were 203 three-year-old children who attended public kindergartens in Gyeonggi-do. The data were collected by a questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. The structural equation model was applied using the maximum likelihood method to verify a structural model. The results of the study showed that young children s playfulness affected peer competence and kindergarten adjustment positively, and peer competence also affected kindergarten adjustment positively. The results also showed that young children s playfulness affected kindergarten adjustment indirectly by peer competence. Thus, this study revealed that peer competence was a positive mediator to the effects of young children s playfulness on kindergarten adjustment.
