While the adoption of Social Innovation in the various sections has fueled a rapidly expanding the interest related to practical and scholar issues, social innovation have not yet been completely defined. This paper traces the core elements of social innovation across disciplines by conducting focus group interview, which consists of 14 participants who onsite specialists with the academic degrees. Final core elements of social innovation was constituted 10 categories and 33 sub-indicators. The results suggest that the direction of practice and scholarship should be improved taking into account the importance of obvious social missions, diagnostic powers of social issues, diversity and inclusion. Also, Social Innovator’s training courses need to be developed grounding on scientific higher education for the solid knowledge system and continuous self-innovation. Finally, the institutional and environmental supports are required to expanding social innovation across communities everywhere.
