The purpose of this study is to explore the necessity and possibility of research on the role of teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents for the formation and maintenance of partnerships between parents and teachers (school). To this end, the concepts and characteristics of teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents were identified through previous studies on self-efficacy and teachers’ self-efficacy. In addition, a survey of 584 elementary, middle, and high school teachers in Kangwon province was conducted to analyze the relationships with background variables of the teachers, the teachers opinions about the parents related tasks, and the relevance of the teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents. As a result, teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents differed by gender, school grade, and teachers career, and showed some significant relations with emotional reaction to parent-related work. In addition, teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents was significantly explaining the teachers’ sense of the partnership between parents and teachers, Based on the results of this study, the implications of the study on teachers’ self-efficacy toward parents and improving the partnerships between parents and teachers were discussed, and suggested the limitations of this study and the subsequent research.
