The importance of the science reading material included in the content of elementary science textbooks is emphasized in many studies. In particular, there are many studies that the editing of science history into reading materials has a positive effect on students learning of science. The purpose of this study is to guide students to read books related to the history of science more effectively among the liberal arts books selected and read by students at Gongju National University of Education. It is supposed that the author of the selected book is a general author who did not major in science or science history, which would make reading easier for many students who did not have the natural sciences course in high school curriculum at the Gongju National University of Education . However, it is reported that there were many the difficulties of reading this book because of the author s method of writing with a large amount of information. In this study, several suggestions were made to
help these students difficulties.
