이 연구는 장애인직업재활시설을 이용하고 있는 중·고령 발달장애인 당사자가 인식하는 잘 늙어감에 대한 인식유형을 탐색하고 그 특성을 밝히려고 시도되었다. 이를 위해 Q 방법론을 활용하여 문헌 고찰과 심층 면접을 통해 추출한 30개의 항목을 Q 표본으로, 장애인직업재활시설을 이용하고 있는 40세 이상 중·고령 발달장애인 37명을 P 표본으로 선정하여 실증적으로 고찰하였다. 분석결과, 중·고령 발달장애인이 인식하는 잘 늙어감에 대한 인식유형은 ‘긍정적 마인드 추구형’, ‘사회적 참여 지향형’, ‘일상의 안녕 추구형’, ‘경제활동 추구형’ 등 네 유형으로 분류, 정리되었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 한국사회에서 중·고령 발달장애인들의 잘 늙어감에 대한 개념화 작업과 잘 늙어가기 위한 서비스나 정책개발에 도움이 되는 중요한 기초자료를 제공하였다.
This study attempted to reveal the types of perception and its characteristics of well-aging ageing recognized by a person with advanced disabilities who is using the vocational rehabilitation facility for the disabled. For this purpose, 30 items extracted through literature review and in-depth interviews were selected as Q samples and 37 people aged 40 and older who are using vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled were selected as P samples for empirical consideration. According to the analysis, the types of perceptions of well-aging age that are recognized by people with developmental disabilities of middle-aged age were classified and organized into four categories: ‘positive mind-seeking’, ‘social participation-oriented’, ‘life-oriented’ and ‘economical activity-seeking’. Based on these results, the government provided important basic data to help develop services or policies for developing old age and conceptualizing the aging of the middle and old people in Korean society.
