The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of school labor rights education, and to suggest the improvement plan. Through the precedent study and curriculum analysis, problems of school labor rights education were drawn and the main contents are like the following. Firstly, labor rights education should achieve the goals of labor education and human rights education in a balanced way but so far, school labor rights education is concentrated on legal and institutional labor education. Secondly, adolescents are considered to be protected from labor, so right education for them as a subject of labor doesn’t seem to be done properly. Thirdly, the connection with subjects is weak, so consistent and stable labor rights education for every student can’t be done. To solve these problems, the followings are suggested for the practice of school labor rights education. Firstly, the conception of labor and labor rights should be redefined from the idealistic point of view and the goal of Social Studies labor rights education needs to be concrete. Secondly, core competencies should be reinterpreted from the human rights pont of view. ‘Integrative thinking skill’ can be used as competency goal to acquire knowledge⋅function⋅value⋅attitude about labor in a balanced way, ‘Decision-making ability and problem solving ability.’ ‘Communication and cooperation ability’ can be used as life competency goal for solving labor problems, ‘Aesthetic emotional competency’ can be used as competency goal for social structural understanding human rights problem and for raising responsible behavioral competency.
