The purpose of this study was to analyze how the elements, principles, and aesthetic attitude of fine arts were reflected in art related activities in the teacher’s manual on standard childcare curriculum for 4-year old children.
The analysis criteria for the elements of fine arts were adapted from Kim and Gang (2011), and Kim (2017) and the same was done for the principles of fine arts based on Lee et. al.(2015) and Kim and Lee (2018), for the aesthetic attitude of fine arts based on Lee (2015).
The results were as follows: First, the analysis of art contents by life theme in art related activities in 4-year-old Nuri Curriculum, showed that overall art contents appeared highest in ‘artistic expression’. Second, analyzing elements of art in art related activities in 4-year-old Nuri Curriculum, color appeared the most frequently, followed by shape, color, plane, texture, line, composition, space, point, light and shade. Third, analyzing principles of art in art related activities in 4-year-old Nuri Curriculum, highlight appeared the most frequently, followed by proportion, balance, rhythm/repetition, movement, unity, change, and pattern. Fourth, aesthetic attitude in art related activities in 4-year-old Nuri Curriculum, appeared in the order of production of work, art criticism, and aesthetics.
