본 연구는 고등학교 내에 개설된 미술 스튜디오의 방과후 프로그램에 2년간 참여하고 있는 한 학생의 교육 과정을 중심으로 미술의 고유 원리인 ‘상징과 은유’가 미술교육의 실제에서 학생들의 주체성 회복 과정에서 어떠한 역할을 할 수 있는가를 고찰한 실행적 연구이다. 이를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 제시하고자 한다. 시각적 상징과 은유를 통한 사유의 과정이 자기 인식과 내적 성장을 가능하게 하는 미술교육의 실제를 위해서는 첫째, 그 원리와 실제의 연결을 위해 미적 언어의 상징과 은유의 개념 체계 파악이 필요하다. 둘째, 교육의 목적과 미술교육의 원리를 일관된 맥락 안에서 실현하는 장기적 구조와 학습자 개개인을 위해 개별화된 접근이 필요하다. 셋째, 교육적 매개 역할로서의 언어적 표현과 상호작용이 미적 표현과 더불어 미술 수업의 주요 요소로서 작동해야 한다.
This is an action research that examines the role of symbols and metaphors , a unique principle of art in the process of restoring the subjectivity of students in the practice of art education. The conclusions from this study are as follows. First, the conceptual system of symbols and metaphors of aesthetic language provides the principle to help self-awareness and to have a new subjective perspective. Second, in order to provide the process of aesthetic thinking through symbols and metaphors in the practice of education, a long-term structure and individualized approach are needed for each learner. Third, linguistic interactions among educators, students, and art works in the structure of the class should be emphasized in terms of the principle of art and education.
