Since the 21st century, the world has faced a crisis of aging, and the issue of pension has become a world issue. At present, China’s aging population has entered a phase of rapid development and the current social pension service system is facing severe challenges. Relying solely on traditional family pensions is difficult to meet the elderly‘s need for pension security. Therefore, it is urgent to address the issue of welfare and security for the elderly and establish a sound service system for the elderly.
This article introduced the current situation and trends of the aging population in China, the welfare policies of the elderly and the current situation and characteristics of welfare for the elderly. In addition, 100 civil servants in Chengde City carried out surveys on the needs and perceptions of the welfare of the elderly, and the contents of the survey consisted of income, health, living, and convalescence. According to the characteristics of respondents, the survey results were described and analyzed.
Through the above-mentioned investigation and study, we can see that China is about to enter the aging society, but there are still some deficiencies in the elderly welfare policy. At present, as the ageing population continues to deepen, not only the number of elderly people is increasing, but also the number of elderly people and elderly people who are disabled is becoming more and more prominent. In addition to pure material needs, the needs of elderly people in terms of care, culture and entertainment have also become Growth trend. Only by digging out the welfare needs of the elderly, developing a diversity of welfare provision methods, and increasing welfare policies for the elderly can we meet the diversified welfare needs of the elderly.
