본 연구는 발달장애 고등학생과 가족의 성인기 전환을 준비하기 위해 ‘학생과 가족을 위한 전환지원 프로그램’을 개발하여 적용하고 이 프로그램에 참여한 가족을 대상으로 그들이 경험한 전환준비 및 가족역량강화과정에서의 경험과 인식을 질적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도 고등학교 특수학급에 재학 중인 발달장애 자녀의 가족(주양육자) 10인을 대상으로 프로그램 참여기간 전반에 걸쳐 현장노트를 작성하였으며, 일부 참여자(7인)와 개별면담을 실시하고 전사한 후 지속적 비교분석법을 활용해 질적 자료를 분석하였다. 그 결과 전환준비 및 가족역량강화 과정에서의 경험과 인식에 대한 5개의 대주제[(1)가족의 전환준비관련 사전경험, (2)가족의 전환준비를 위한 노력, (3)가족의 전환준비 인식 및 역량의 변화, (4)프로그램 특성 및 도움요인, (5)전환준비를 위한 지원요구]와 11개의 하위주제를 도출하였다. 전환을 준비하는 가족의 프로그램 참여과정 중의 경험과 인식과 전환준비를 위한 요구를 고려하여 향후 효과적인 전환준비 과정을 위한 연구방향을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this study was to implement transition support program for students and families and inquiry the participants experiences and perceptions on transition preparation and family empowerment during the program. A field notes from total of 10 pair of high school students with developmental disabilities and their families who had participated in the program were collected and 7 participants among 10 were interviewed individually. The qualitative data were analyzed using the continuous comparative analysis method. Five main themes and 11 subthemes emerged from the analysis as follows: (a) Previous experiences of families regarding transition preparation, (b) Efforts of families for transition preparation, (c) Changes in perceptions and competencies of families regarding transition preparation, (d) Program characteristics and contributing factors, (e) Support needs for transition preparation. Research directions were proposed for effective transition preparation in the future considering the experiences and awareness of the family and the need for transition preparation.
