The modern society, which is rapidly diversifying, is causing many social problems by breaking the boundaries between countries and cultures and bringing social diversity. This problem is manifested in various aspects, especially in school education. Therefore, this study is a music-centered culturally responsive teaching in order to understand culturally responsive pedagogy, which responds seriously and sensitively to various cultures, and uses it as a driving force for communication, as an important responsibility of school education, and to increase the ability of pre-service teachers to handle it. It was intended to present a plan to cultivate intercultural Competency. In the study, the concept and method of unfamiliar culturally responsive teaching in music education in Korea have been summarized through research by scholars who insist on culturally responsive pedagogy in the past, and the conditions of teachers for culturally responsive teaching have been explored. Also, in order to develop intercultural Competency, which is a condition required for teachers to perform culturally responsive teaching, we proposed a method for the content of intercultural Competency that can be applied in pre-teacher education based on music. Through this study, it is hoped that the development of multi cultural-based music teaching methods will be promoted, and that the prospective teacher s ability to practice culturally responsive pedagogy through music will be enhanced.
