This study analyzes the curriculum, educational facilities and faculty recruitment rate of the applied music department of China and Korea in order to propose an improvement plan for applied music education in Korea. In the case of educational curriculum, curriculum in applied music departments in Korea are more competitive than those in Chinese music conservatory. In terms of educational facilities, China invests much more than Korea and has a quality educational environment that meets the needs of education. From the point of view on the faculty recruitment rate, China has an advantage over the applied music department of Korea in the proportion of teachers. Based on the results of this study, in order to improve the international visibility of applied music education in Korea, improve the educational environment, put forward a variety of suggestions.
