Children have always existed as others of adults. They are defined as immature beings to become adults. In this regard, children forced to mature, whether Western or Korean, are found in almost all children s literature. However, important differences have been found in Korean children s literature, which is different from Western children s literature. In fantasy fairy tales, the difference turned out to be a desire for moral ideals. In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, Dumbledore is idealized for Romance s completion, but the Grandmother of three sips of spring water becomes a complete adult who goes beyond death and desire through moral enlightenment. In this respect, three sips of spring water is a moral Romance. In Mongsil Sister, the special characteristics of Korea s modern history were added, showing more Korean characteristics. A Little Princess, Anne of Green Gables and Mongsil Sister all show girl images that overcome hardships and grow. However, only Mongsil Sister is stepping into the macroscopic nature of the grim reality. What matters is the spirit of realism in this work. The possibility of children s literature as a Novel can be seen in Mongsil Sister that children s literature can raise the issue of reality beyond adult literature instead of staying in Romance.
