The purpose of this study is to identify what praxis, which denotes practice, implies in the praxial music education of David J. Elliott. The discussion about praxis will progress by exploring the following three questions: First, why did Elliott base the philosophy of praxial music education on Aristotle’s praxis? Second, what does the temporality of praxis arising from action mean in praxial music education? And third, how does praxis manifest itself and what does it mean in praxial music education? In conclusion, Praxis not only forms and develops me through musical acts but also establishes the relationships with the world surrounding me, as a result, extending the value of praxial music education into human life and the world.
