본 연구는 맞벌이 부모의 일‧가정 양립 갈등이 자신과 상대방의 강압적 양육행동에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 부모의 일‧가정 양립 갈등이 자녀의 집행기능 곤란에 영향을 미치는 과정에서 강압적 양육행동과 자녀의 미디어기기 의존의 다중 매개역할을 규명하였다. 연구대상은 한국아동패널연구(Panel Study on Korean Children: PSKC) 10차 조사에 참여한 520쌍의 맞벌이 부모와 초등학교 3학년 자녀로, 수집된 자료에 대해 자기‧상대방 상호의존모델과 팬텀변수를 활용한 구조방정식모델 분석을 실시하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 일‧가정 양립 갈등은 자신과 상대방의 강압적 양육행동에 모두 정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 부모의 일‧가정 양립 갈등은 어머니의 강압적 양육행동과 자녀의 미디어기기 의존의 독립적‧순차적 매개과정을 통해 집행기능 곤란에 영향을 미쳤으며, 이러한 매개과정은 부모의 성별에 따라 차이가 있었다. 이를 통해 자녀의 집행기능 발달과 올바른 미디어기기 사용에 대한 부모교육 실시와 일‧가정 양립을 위한 지속적인 정책적 노력의 필요성이 제기되었다.
The present study identified the effects of parents’ work‧family conflicts on their and partners’ coercive parenting, as well as the multiple mediating roles of coercive parenting and children’s media device dependency in linking parents’ work‧family conflicts with children’s executive function difficulties. This study used data from 520 dual-earner parents and their 3rd grade elementary school children who participated in the Panel Study on Korean Children. Structural equation modeling analyses revealed the following: First, parents’ work‧family conflicts positively influenced their and partners’ coercive parenting. Second, parents’ work‧family conflicts exerted indirect effects on children’s executive function difficulties through the independent and serial mediating processes of mothers’ coercive parenting and children’s media device dependency, and there were differences in the mediating processes by parents’ sex. Finally, this study suggested the necessity of parent education to improve children’s executive function and use media device appropriately and of continuous policy efforts for dual-earner parents’ work-family balance.
