The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of occupational characteristics factors on job satisfaction of wage workers in Korea and to compare the differences by occupation groups. To this end, the researcher analyzed data of the Occupational Index Survey(KRIVET, 2017~2019), which surveyed various attributes of occupational factors for each sub-classed occupation in Korea form 2017 to 2019. The main results of the study are as follows. First, the explanatory power of the regression model, which analyzes the influence of occupational consciousness, occupational characteristics, and core competency variables on the job satisfaction of wage workers, was significant at 69.8%. Second, the higher the recognition of the occupational reputation, the higher the sense of vocation, the higher the comfort of job environment, the higher the employment stability, the higher the job flexibility, the higher the job professionalism, the higher the job satisfaction. Third, the core competency as occupational characteristics such as data analysis ability, critical thinking ability, creativity, empathy ability, and interpersonal relationship ability influenced workers job satisfaction. Fourth, the factors of occupational characteristics that affect the job satisfaction of workers and their influence to job satisfaction were different for each occupation group. Based on these results, the meaning and implications were discussed, and suggestions were made from the viewpoint of improving workers job satisfaction, the viewpoint of developing core competencies, and the viewpoint of follow-up research.
