The purpose of this study was to analyze the format and contents of textbooks used for the primary school orientation program in order to provide basic data for desirable early admission adaptation activities. The data for the study included seven textbooks used for the primary school orientation program developed by the Metropolitan Office of Education. The results of this study were as follows. First, the format including cover name, content system, number of pages etc, was composed autonomously in various ways. Second, it was found that the contents of school life adaptation, basic lifestyle, relationship with friends and family, basic learning ability, and safe life were consisted with different weights depending on the Metropolitan Office of Education.
These results provided basic information about the composition and operation of textbooks used for the primary school orientation program.
