Objective : The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of group multisensory stimulation program on cognitive function and emotional regulation in the elderly with mild dementia.
Methods : This study provided a group multi-sensory stimulation program for the elderly with mild dementia over 65 years old living in specialized nursing facilities for the elderly, and compared and analyzed the subject s cognitive function, depression, and anxiety.
Results : After the group multi-sensory stimulation program, among the subjects cognitive function, mental power, spatial perception, and exercise performance were significantly improved (p<.01), and emotional regulation was significantly decreased (p<.01). In addition, depression and anxiety showed a significant positive relationship.
Conclusion : The multisensory stimulation program for the elderly with mild dementia showed positive results in improving cognitive function and emotional regulation in the elderly with dementia. The multi-sensory stimulation program will help relieve the symptoms of dementia elderly, and it is thought that further research is needed in the future.
