본 연구는 부모의 자기분화와 부부친밀감이 양육태도에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여, 자기-상대방 상호의존 매개 모형(APIMeM)을 활용하여 5∼13세 자녀가 있는 부모 220쌍을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 첫째, 자기분화와 부부친밀감의 경로에서, 부모 모두 자기효과와 상대방효과가 나타났다. 둘째, 자기분화와 양육태도와의 경로에서, 부모 모두 자기효과가 나타났으며, 상대방효과에서는 어머니의 자기분화만이 아버지의 양육태도에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 부부친밀감과 양육태도와의 관계에서는, 아버지의 부부친밀감이 자신의 양육태도에만 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 부부친밀감의 매개효과 검증 결과, 부모의 자기분화는 아버지의 부부친밀감을 매개로 아버지의 양육태도에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 이처럼 본 연구는 부모가 서로에게 미치는 영향력과 그 차이를 확인할 수 있었으며, 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 가족상담, 부모교육 등에 있어서 기초 자료로써 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Objectives: The present study examines the mediating effect of marital intimacy in the relationship between parental self-differentiation and parenting attitude by using the standard APIMeM (Actor and Partner Interdependence Mediation Model). Methods: A total of 220 pairs of parents with a child (children) aged from 5 to 13 were recruited for participation in the study. Results: First, the results indicated that the self-differentiation of parents affected not only themselves but also the marital intimacy of the partner. Second, the self-differentiation of parents affected their parenting attitude, and the mother’s self-differentiation also affected the father’s parenting attitude. Third, the father’s marital intimacy only affected his parenting attitude. Fourth, the parents’ self-differentiation affected the father’s parenting attitude through the medium of the father’s marital intimacy. Conclusions: The study provided opportunities to understand how both parents influence their own and their partner’s parental attitude differently based on level of self-differentiation.
