본 연구는 어린이집교사의 정서지능과 문제해결능력과의 상관관계를 알아보고 정서지능이 문제해결능력에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 서울시와 경기도에 위치한 어린이집 교사 299명이었고, 연구분석은 Spss 18.0 프로그램을 통해 빈도분석, Cronbach’s α, 기술통계, Pearson의 상관관계로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 어린이집교사의 정서지능과 문제해결능력은 보통수준으로 긍정적으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정서지능과 문제해결능력은 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 어린이집 교사의 정서지능은 문제해결능력에 긍정적인 영향을 주었다. 영향을 본 연구 결과는 영유아 보육의 질을 향상시키는데 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
The purpose of the present study is to examine the correlation between child care teachers’ emotional intelligence and problem solving skills. The participants of this study were child care teachers, currently working in Seoul and Gyeonggi provinces, and total 299 survey data were analyzed. The results of the present study were as follow. First, child care teachers’ emotional intelligence and problem solving skills were above the average. Second, child care teachers’ emotional intelligence and problem solving skills have positive and significant relationship. Finally, child care teachers’ emotional intelligence significantly influence their problem solving skills. The current study is meaningful by highlighting the importance of child care teachers’ emotional intelligence, and eventually contributing to improve the quality of child care services.
