The purpose of this study was to investigate the usefulness of a DAS test as a projection test to diagnose the level of depression and resilience in middle-aged women. The study subjects were 132 middle-aged women between 40 and 60 years of age, conveniently sampled from located in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Jeonnam regions. The study conducted a survey using the depression scale, the resilience scale, and the Draw-A-Story (DAS) test. The collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program, correlation analysis, and cross-tabulation. The results of this research were as follows: First, there was a significant negative correlation among the middle-aged women s depression, resilience, emotional content, and self-image of middle-aged women, while there was a significant positive correlation among their resilience, emotional content, and self-image. Second, the higher the level of the depression of the middle-aged participants, the more negative the emotional content was, and the higher the resilience, the more positive the emotional content was. Third, an analysis of stimuli plots based on levels of depression and resilience showed differences in the story.
